Penn State transfer QB Will Levis is among those competing for the starting job at Kentucky alongside Joey Gatewood, and Beau Allen.
Levis is the latest to join the program, and he shared what appealed to him about making the move during a conversation with the UK Sports Network.
“I think if I’m able to succeed in a conference like this, then it only helps my case to be able to play at the next level,” Levis said. “I’m just a competitive person. I want to play the best teams, I want to beat the best teams and I want to play for the best team.”
The junior graduate transfer played three seasons at Penn State. In 15 career games, he completed 61-of-102 passes (59.8) for 644 yards and three scores, with just two interceptions. He was often used as a running quarterback, and had 133 carries for 473 yards and six touchdowns.
He said he instantly hit it off with Mark Stoops and offensive coordinator Liam Coen during his recruitment.
“With the addition of Coach Coen, I think on top of just playing in a good conference, playing for a good team, it was just the connections I made with the coaching staff,” he said. “I bought it and believed in them, and they really believed in me.”
