Will Stein earns national award for upset win at Texas A&M

Will Stein said from the moment he became the Kentucky coach that he was going to get things rolling in Lexington. It is one thing to say it; it is another to go out there and get the job done. It took Stein 3 weeks, but he helped lead Kentucky to a program-defining win at College Station and upset Texas A&M.
Any time you get that type of win, people are going to take notice. That was the case on Monday, as Stein was named the Dodd Trophy National Coach of the Week.
In Week 2, the Wildcats went toe-to-toe with Alabama for 30 minutes, as they took a 17-13 lead to the half. Things didn’t go well in the second, and the Crimson Tide pulled away for the win. However, that game showed that Kentucky is making strides, and then to go to Kyle Field and get the win is just another step in where he plans on taking the team.
Excitement is at a high-level for the Wildcats, and a huge reason why is how Stein has won the fans over after he came over from Oregon last season. The Wildcats will be back in action in Week 4 when they take on South Alabama.
