Will Stein gives electric postgame interview after beating Texas A&M: ‘I’m not shocked’

Take a bow, Will Stein.
The new Kentucky Wildcats head coach walked into College Station and left with Kentucky’s first top 10 win since 2024, downing No. 9 Texas A&M 31-21. Kentucky exploded out of the halftime gate, scoring 21 straight points to take a 28-7 lead. From there, it was smooth sailing to the first conference win of Stein’s Kentucky tenure.
Following the game, Stein was understandably fired up. His energy overflowed in the postgame interview, when he said the following: I’m not shocked,” Stein said. “This is how our guys practiced every single day. This is what Kentucky football is supposed to look like. I’m so proud of our guys, coming on the road, eye of the storm. How frickin cool is this? Let’s go!”

Quarterback Kenny Minchey was excellent on Saturday. The Notre Dame transfer completed 14 of his 18 passing attempts on the evening, collecting 252 yards and a pair of touchdowns with zero turnovers. Keep in mind, he had a few unfortunate drops to deal with, too. Either way, Minchey showed he’s fully capable of leading a winning offense in a hostile environment.
The Wildcats will be back in action next Saturday, when Kentucky faces off against South Alabama.
