Great news to share from Columbia as South Carolina has just announced its plans to return Williams-Brice Stadium to 100 percent capacity for the upcoming college football season.

In addition to that news, masks will no longer be required at Gamecock home football games according to the school.

“There is nothing like Gamecock Game Day and we are excited to welcome back all of our great fans to Williams-Brice Stadium,” said South Carolina Athletics Director Ray Tanner in a released statement. “Fans will be able to enjoy all of the game day traditions as in previous years.”

Head coach Shane Beamer also issued a statement following the news.

“When Williams-Brice Stadium is full, there is no greater home field advantage in college football. I look forward to running out to 2001 with our team to a stadium full of loud, passionate Gamecock fans,” Beamer shared.

The Gamecocks are set to open the 2021 season at home against Eastern Illinois on Saturday, Sept. 4 in Williams-Brice Stadium.
