Those who play fantasy football know all about Yahoo! Sports’ service. On Thursday, Yahoo! Fantasy Sports announced that its brand-new College Fantasy Football platform is up and running for the 2026-27 season and beyond.
The NFL has dominated the fantasy football space for decades now, but this new league from Yahoo! aims to fix that. For those familiar with the NFL version on Yahoo! Sports, College Fantasy Football is set to work almost exactly the same, with a few additions.
There will be a new team offense position and 10 starters per team. 1 quarterback, 1 tight end, 1 team defense and 1 team offense. In addition, there will be 2 starting roster spots for running backs, wide receivers and Flex positions.
For the team offense, scoring is as follows:
- TD scored = 3 points
- First 300 yards of offense = 1.5 points
- Every additional 50 yards of offense = .25 points
- Field goal made = 1 point
- Team win = 1 point
- Team loss = -1 point
- Turnovers = -1 point
Obviously, there will also be a much larger player pool as all Power 4 teams will be represented, plus Notre Dame. Sorry, Tulane fans. Because of the sheer size of the player pool, there will be more waiver options for fantasy footballers at Yahoo! Sports.
