Texas trailed Nebraska 1-0 going into the sixth inning of a Women’s College World Series elimination game. Katie Stewart made sure the defending champions’ season lived on for at least one more day.

Stewart hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth — her 28th of the season — as the Longhorns beat the Cornhuskers 3-1 in Oklahoma City on Sunday. Texas moves on to face Tennessee, whom it will need to beat twice on Monday to advance to the best-of-three finals that begin on Wednesday.

This one was a tense affair, with Jordy Frahm’s leadoff homer in the top of the first standing as the game’s only run. Frahm, who started in the circle for the Huskers, took a no-hitter into the sixth, getting Ashton Maloney to ground out before back-to-back singles by Jaycie Nichols and Kayden Henry set up Stewart’s sixth-inning dramatics.

Teagan Kavan then got Jesse Farrell swinging and allowed a Kacie Hoffman single before retiring Samantha Bland and Bella Bacon to shut the door and end the Huskers’ season. Kavan went the distance, with Frahm’s home run the only run she allowed all day. She also scattered four hits and struck out three while walking none.

That sets up an all-SEC affair on Monday, as both Texas and Tennessee look to advance to the finals. First pitch is set for noon ET, with a second game (if necessary) scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET. Both can be seen on ESPN.
