ESPN brought Pat McAfee to Atlanta to be part of the Home Run Derby broadcast on Monday night — a choice that’s proving to be quite controversial for baseball fans.

Although McAfee has established himself as one of the ESPN’s biggest college football personalities, baseball fans may not be quite as familiar with his emceeing style. Complaints about McAfee’s presence at the event filled up on social media during and after his appearance on the broadcast.
Here’s some of the reaction on social media:
This is McAfee’s first time at MLB All-Star week for ESPN. He’s become a fixture for the World Wide Leader across numerous live events in addition to his work on College GameDay each fall.
His daily show, the Pat McAfee Show, is being staged in Atlanta this week. Notable names such as Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge were guests on his show on Monday afternoon.
Tuesday night’s All-Star game is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. ET.
