Jac Caglianone is a great baseball player and a stand-up human being.
The Kansas City Royals recently opened their 2026 campaign, now sitting at 3-2 on the year with a series ongoing against the Minnesota Twins.
Last night’s game wasn’t exactly played in perfect baseball weather. It was rainy and foggy at Kaufmann Stadium, so much so that several players actually lost pop-ups in the rain. Because of this, the Royals grounds crew was working overtime.
Their hard work didn’t go unnoticed, though. According to Royals writer Jake Eisenberg, Caglianone made sure to ask one of the grounds crew members how many people were working the game.
This morning, Caglianone apparently brought the 20 or so grounds crew members 3 dozen donuts plus coffee as a thank you for their hard work.
If you’re wondering, Kansas City won last night’s game, with today’s matchup still in progress.
Caglianone is an SEC and Florida Gators legend. He batted an insane .355/.447/.760Â across 634 at bats with the Gators and led Florida to back-to-back College World Series appearances and owns the Florida career home run record with 75. He was drafted 6th overall by the Royals in 2024.
