Former Alabama standout forward Brandon Miller is now a very rich NBA player with the Charlotte Hornets.

According to a report by NBA insider Shams Charania on Monday afternoon, the 23-year-old Miller has agreed to a mega 5-year, $209 million rookie-scale contract extension, with his representatives telling ESPN of the specifics of the deal.

The extension is worth more than $40 million per season for Miller, who appeared in 65 games last season for the Hornets. He averaged 20.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.0 steals per game for Charlotte last season, making 3.1 3-pointers per contest.

Miller played 1 season for Alabama in 2022-23 before Charlotte invested a lot in him in the 2023 draft by making him the 2nd overall pick that year. While the Hornets have shipped other notable players out, they have stuck with Miller, who is already entering his fourth season with the franchise that is now investing millions in him.

After starring in high school in the state of Tennessee, Miller decided to stay in SEC country and come to Alabama, where he was the SEC Player of the Year in his first and only season in Tuscaloosa. Miller was also a second-team Consensus All-American in 2023.

Miller made an immediate impression in Charlotte, being selected to the NBA All-Rookie First Team after the 2023-24 season. A few years later, as Miller enters his fourth season in the NBA, the Hornets are making the ultimate long-term investment in their budding star small forward.

The 2026-27 season opens on Tuesday night, and the race will officially be on to be the next NBA champion come next June. Here is what the Kalshi market is currently saying about the best odds to rule the NBA this coming season:
