Gilgeous-Alexander gets the nod over Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs and Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets. The official MVP announcement will be made by the NBA at 7:30 p.m. ET Sunday on Prime Video.

This season, Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 31.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.3 rebounds per game for the Oklahoma City Thunder over 68 games. The defending NBA champions, Oklahoma City is 8-0 so far in this year’s postseason, sweeping the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers. The Thunder will play the Spurs in the conference finals, beginning Monday at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Gilgeous-Alexander was the high scorer in all 4 games of the Suns series. After a 25-point game in the opener, he scored 31 points or better over the next 3, including 42 in Game 3 on April 25. He was also the high scorer in Game 4 against the Lakers on Monday, scoring 35 in a 115-110 victory.
