Alabama leads all schools in players on NFL rosters for 10th straight season

Alabama football has basically been a pro factory dating back to Nick Saban’s arrival. Even with the legendary coach retired, the Crimson Tide still produce plenty of NFL talent. In fact, Alabama has now led the nation in players on NFL rosters for 10 straight seasons now, which the program noted on social media.
There’s an astounding 72 former Alabama players in the NFL at the moment, including standouts such as running back Derrick Henry, quarterback Jalen Hurts, wide receiver DeVonta Smith, running back Jahmyr Gibbs, defensive end Will Anderson Jr., and cornerback Patrick Surtain II. In fact, there’s at least 1 Alabama player on 27 of the 32 NFL teams.
When accounting for active 53-man rosters, there’s 58 ex-Crimson Tide players.

The rest of the top 5 in active roster NFL players include Ohio State (56), Georgia (54), LSU (44), and Texas (42).
The Crimson Tide’s legacy in the pros is extensive. Four former Alabama players have been selected as NFL MVP: wide receiver/safety Don Hutson (1941, 1942), quarterback Bart Starr (1966), quarterback Ken Stabler (1974), and running back Shaun Alexander (2005).
There’s also been 3 former Alabama players selected as Super Bowl MVP: quarterbacks Starr (Super Bowl I and II), Joe Namath (Super Bowl III), and Hurts (Super Bowl LIX).
