Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer is not concerned about Dak Prescott being limited at the first day of Cowboys minicamp Tuesday, he told reporters this afternoon. Prescott, entering his 11th season in the NFL this year, is reportedly dealing with a sore knee.

“Nothing we’re concerned about,”ย Schottenheimer said via Yahoo! Sports. “We’re just going to be smart in these last couple of days.”

Prescott has run into health issues across his career, but played all 17 games for the Cowboys last season, posting one of his best campaigns yet from a stats perspective. He finished 3rd in total passing yards (4552) with 30 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. The Cowboys struggled despite this, missing the Playoffs with a 7-9-1 record.

The former Mississippi State quarterback played just 8 games in 2024, missing half the year due to a hamstring injury. He does not have a history of knee injuries, though it’s worth noting (as Schottenheimer alluded to) Prescott still took part in 7-on-7 with the Cowboys on Tuesday.

Dallas is entering a very important season, looking to get back to the playoffs for the first time since 2023.
