Social media posts with fake quotes or reports or altered images can trip up just about anyone from time to time. It’s bad, though, if something fake from social media is presented elsewhere as legitimate, which happened on the Denver Broncos’ broadcast of a preseason game Saturday night.
Earlier in the week, a user on X (formerly Twitter) made a post “quoting” Micah Parsons saying Denver was his ideal destination, which he did not publicly state. The post implied the quote came from The Edge podcast. As Awful Announcing points out, The Edge has not released a new episode since January.

“My dream destination? Denver. I would love to play for the Broncos. They already got the best defense in the league and they have a real chance at a Super Bowl.”

Unfortunately, the Denver Broncos broadcast did not look into verifying the quote before making a graphic to air during Saturday’s preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals.
I had to dig up this clip to make sure it was 100% real and the clip makes it even funnier. They had a whole report set up and everything for something Micah Parsons never said.

Broncos producers should be embarrassed. I’m cackling. https://t.co/5Z1l4TsrG2 pic.twitter.com/kYdUcaD8Xs
While there’s lots of speculation about Parsons’ future, he has not stated – at least publicly – that he hopes to play in Denver.
