Former Alabama defensive back Terrion Arnold, a first-round pick by the Detroit Lions in 2024, saw his team suffer a 27-24 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 9.

Despite the defeat, Arnold logged his first NFL interception.

Late in the 2nd quarter and with the Lions trailing 17-14, Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy threw over the middle to Jalen Nailor, but Arnold was able to snag it and eventually come away with the INT.

Here’s video of Arnold’s first career pick:

Arnold, a 5-star recruit from Tallahassee, Fla., signed with the Crimson Tide from the 2021 recruiting class. After redshirting as a true freshman, he emerged as one of the top defensive backs in the country.

In 2022, he made 45 tackles and an interception while recording 8 pass deflections and a fumble recovery. He was named a freshman All-SEC selection and a freshman All-American after the season. In 2023, he picked off 5 passes, tied for 1st in the SEC, earning first-team All-American and All-SEC honors.

Arnold was then taken 24th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. In 16 games as a rookie, he totaled 60 tackles and 10 PDs. He entered Sunday with 22 tackles, finishing the game against the Lions with 3 tackles and 3 PDs.
