Former Alabama DL Quinnen Williams signs multi-year extension with Dallas Cowboys

Former Alabama standout defensive lineman Quinnen Williams is now a very rich young man as he enters his second season with the Dallas Cowboys.
The 28-year-old Birmingham native who played at Alabama from 2016-18 has agreed to terms on a 3-year, $105.9 million extension with the Cowboys that will make him one of the NFL’s highest-paid defensive linemen.
ESPN and NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported that the deal done by Nicole Lynn of KLUTCH Sports Group is the largest 3rd contract ever given to a defensive lineman.
According to ESPN NFL insiders Adam Schefter and Todd Archer, Williams’ deal includes $101 million in guaranteed money and $63.35 million guaranteed at signing. The $35.3 million in annual average salary ranks second in the NFL among defensive tackles.
Williams was previously signed through the 2027 season as part of a 4-year extension worth $96 million that included $66 million in guaranteed money from the New York Jets in 2023. But this lucrative contract with the Cowboys now means that Williams is signed through the 2030 season.
The Cowboys acquired Williams from the Jets at last year’s trade deadline. Williams is already a 4-time Pro Bowl selection, making the Pro Bowl in each of the past 4 seasons, and he was a first-team All-Pro selection in 2022 with the Jets.
Williams was a Unanimous All-American and first-team All-SEC selection at Alabama in 2018. He helped lead the Crimson Tide to the national championship in 2017 as a redshirt freshman.
After his standout run in Tuscaloosa, Williams was the 3rd overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Jets.
