Najee Harris appears to have a new team for the 2026 NFL season. The New York Giants are reportedly signing the former Alabama running back.
The news comes from NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo. They’re reporting it’s a 1-year deal for Harris in New York.
The #Giants are signing free agent RB Najee Harris to a 1-year deal, per me and @MikeGarafolo, as NYG adds another veteran to their backfield.

Harris is entering Year 6 of his professional career. He spent his first 4 seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team that selected him No. 24 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft.
As a Steeler, Harris had a strong debut season that landed him in the Pro Bowl and on the PFWA All-Rookie Team for the year. He posted career highs of 307 rushes for 1,200 yards in the 2021 campaign.
Harris rushed for 1,000 yards or better in his first 4 NFL seasons. The streak was snapped by injury last year. With the Chargers, Harris was limited to just 3 games and rushed just 15 times for 61 yards.
Interestingly, the signing means Harris will play for Harbaugh brothers in back-to-back seasons. After a season with Jim Harbaugh in Los Angeles, he’ll now play for John Harbaugh in New York.
