The 2026 NFL Draft witnessed a veteran player trade Friday night, as the Minnesota Vikings dealt former All-Pro linebacker and Florida Gators standout Jonathan Greenard to the Philadelphia Eagles for a pair of third-round picks.

NFL insiders Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport broke the news Friday during the second round of the draft in Pittsburgh, also noting that Greenard and the Eagles reached agreement on a four-year, $100 million extension that includes $50 million fully guaranteed.

The Eagles sent the Vikings this year’s No. 98 pick and a third-round pick next year to complete the transaction.

Greenard played in 12 games during his second season in Minnesota in 2025, recording 19 solo tackles and three sacks. He earned All-Pro honors in 2023 with the Houston Texans following a 12ยฝ-sack season and followed it up in 2024 with 12 sacks in his first year as a Viking.

In his six seasons as a pro, Greenard has notched 138 solo tackles, 38 sacks, eight forced fumbles and an interception.

Greenard was a force collegiately at both Louisville and Florida โ€“ piling up 9ยฝ sacks over his first two years as a Cardinal in 2016-17 and then going for 9ยฝ sacks in his junior season at Florida in 2019. He was selected by the Texans in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft with pick No. 90.
