Former Tennessee OT Darnell Wright lands huge new contract with Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears are making sure they hold on to Darnell Wright. The former Tennessee offensive lineman is getting paid.
Agents for Wright told Ian Rapoport and Jeremy Fowler of ESPN the lineman is getting a new 4-year deal worth $116 million, with $93 million of that guaranteed.

Wright is entering Year 4 of his professional career. Chicago selected him with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
With the Bears, Wright has started all 49 games he has appeared in across 3 seasons. He also has 2 postseason starts to his name, both coming in the 2025 campaign.
Last season, Wright earned second-team AP All-Pro recognition. He was part of an offensive line that allowed just 24 sacks, the third-lowest in the NFL.
Wright played 4 seasons for the Volunteers. He appeared in 47 games for Tennessee, making 42 starts across multiple spots on the offensive line. He earned first-team All-SEC honors in 2022.
