The Green Bay Packers have revealed the final status of star tailback Josh Jacobs for the team’s divisional clash with the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

The 27-year-old Alabama product had been dealing with a knee injury leading into this game, and his status was in question all week.

Earlier Sunday, NFL Network reported that Jacobs will be deemed inactive for the Packers’ date with the Vikings. This will be the first game Jacobs has missed this season despite him battling multiple ailments already.

Jacobs has enjoyed a strong second year in Green Bay after being traded from the Las Vegas Raiders prior to the 2024 campaign. The former Bama back has racked up 648 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns to go along with 236 receiving yards, although he has yet to eclipse the 100-yard mark in a game this season.

With the Packers also visiting the Lions on Thanksgiving Day, the organization may have opted for caution in hopes that Jacobs will be ready for that contest.

Backup tailback Emmanuel Wilson, a 26-year-old out of Fort Valley College, is expected to take over the bulk of the carries in Green Bay’s backfield.

The Packers and Vikings kick off at 1 p.m. ET, with the game being broadcast by FOX.
