Jajuan Jennings hasn’t been a huge part of the Minnesota Vikings yet this season, but according to a report by Jay Glazer, the former Tennessee Volunteers standout would rather stay in Minnesota than have a reunion back with the San Francisco 49ers.
“Here’s a scoop that nobody knew,” Glazer said. “The 49ers, who already traded for DeForest Buckner, also had a trade terms worked out for Jauan Jennings with the Vikings. It was contingent with him hopping on a FaceTime with Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch and saying, ‘Okay, yeah, I want to come back’. He didn’t, he actually said I want to stay here in Minnesota.”
On the season, he has only four catches for 43 yards this year. Last week against the Indianapolis Colts was the best game of the year, as he had two catches for 34 yards.
Jennings spent his first five seasons with the 49ers, and was a key part of their offense. He had 210 catches and 2,581 yards and 22 touchdowns. Last season, he had 55 catches for 643 yards and nine touchdowns.
The 49ers have been decimated at the receiver spot with injuries, and Jennings would instantly become one of their top targets. However, he would rather stay with the undefeated Vikings, a team that the 49ers could see in a huge playoff game.
