Quarterback Jaxson Dart will go down as one of the best players in Ole Miss football history. Now, he’s already making a quick impression on the media in New York.
A rookie entering his first minicamp with the franchise, Dart is viewed as the potential future of the franchise. The Giants grabbed Dart at the tail-end of the first round this year with the 25th overall pick of the draft, pairing him with No. 3 overall pick Abdul Carter.
On Friday, Dart made his first post-practice appearance with the press as the Giants’ rookie minicamp heated up. He also made one small gesture that had an immediate impact with the media on hand.
When Dart stepped up to the podium, he simply asked each press member to identify themselves before asking a question so he could get to know each person. It might seem like a small gesture, but it was a good move on his part.
The reaction to that simple move was overwhelmingly positive with Dart already making a glowing impression on the New York media:
Dart delivered a record-setting career under Lane Kiffin, and he surged up boards ahead of the draft. He did enough to impress the Giants to trade up to the end of the first round to grab him, and he is delivering a great start with the media.
