Marvin Harrison Jr., former No. 4 overall pick, to be traded by Arizona Cardinals

Marvin Harrison Jr. has struggled mightily with the Arizona Cardinals in 2026. The No. 4 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft had 885 yards and eight touchdowns as a rookie, but an injury-affected second season limited him to 608 yards and four TDs in 2025.
But after just five catches for 85 yards and a score this season, the Cardinals are set to part ways with him.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, Arizona is on the verge of trading Harrison to an unspecified team. Harrison has reportedly been placed on the inactive list for the Cardinals’ Week 5 game against the Detroit Lions.
The Cardinals bet on Harrison as their franchise wide receiver when they selected him with the fourth overall pick out of Ohio State. As a Buckeye, he emerged as one of the country’s top WRs. He was a unanimous All-American in 2022 and 2023 and won the Biletnikoff Award in 2023 after totaling 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns.
In 2024, his eight touchdowns tied a Cardinals rookie record set by both Anquan Boldin and Hall of Famer Larry Fitzgerald. But he struggled to stay healthy in 2025, missing five games altogether.
With Jacoby Brissett taking over as the Cardinals’ quarterback in 2026 after the departure of Kyler Murray, Harrison has been slow out of the gates. That’s as Michael Wilson has emerged as a primary target — he leads the team in receiving yardage with 258. Trey McBride, one of the league’s top tight ends, is second with 242.
