The New England Patriots and the wider NFL world received some shocking news Friday morning when star running back TreVeyon Henderson announced on X that he had been hospitalized.
According to his post, Henderson revealed that he had recently spent “several days” in the hospital after suffering an “unexpected and unusual medical emergency involving a series of unexplained neurological symptoms.”
Henderson went on to say that he underwent “extensive medical testing and evaluation” during his hospital stay and that the results came back positive. However, despite the encouraging test results, the cause of his symptoms remains unknown.

A five-star recruit coming out of high school, Henderson played college football at Ohio State from 2021-2024, establishing himself as one of the most dominant running backs in the nation. He also played a key role in helping the Buckeyes capture the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship.
Following his standout college career, Henderson was selected by the New England Patriots in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft and quickly became an important piece in their backfield. He racked up 1,132 total yards as a rookie last season while helping New England reach the Super Bowl, and finished third in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting.
Henderson has taken a bit of a step back during his sophomore season with the Patriots, but it remains unclear whether this recent medical scare has played any role in his downtick in production. Hopefully, doctors will be able to determine the cause of his symptoms and Henderson can make a full recovery.
