Randy Moss is back on ESPN after stepping away from the network back in early December due to a health issue.
Moss, one of the best receivers in NFL history, stepped away from his analyst role with ESPN earlier this season due to a health issue. He later revealed his cancer diagnosis.
But Moss’s recovery seems to be going well, as he’s back with his NFL Countdown teammates on Super Bowl Sunday. Moss thanked his former teammates, ESPN colleagues and other people in his life for helping to get him to this point.
“I couldn’t do it alone,” Moss said while fighting back tears. “And I really thank y’all, the NFL, my teammates … hey guys, it’s been hard but I’ve got a lot of love and a lot of people believing in me.”
Here’s a clip from his emotional return to the set:
Moss, who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018, has spent most of the last decade with ESPN as an NFL analyst. He played in the NFL for 14 years before deciding to retire at the end of the 2012 season.
Moss will continue to bring coverage of the Super Bowl on Sunday afternoon. The Chiefs and Eagles are set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET on FOX.
