Ricky Pearsall to miss 2026 NFL season, San Francisco 49ers announce

Former Florida WR Ricky Pearsall will not play in the 2026 NFL season.
Pearsall has been dealing with a nagging PCL injury, including being sidelined by recent swelling. San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch told reporters on Saturday that Pearsall will have surgery, ending his 2026 season before it starts. Pearsall is expected to be back for 2027.

Pearsall has two professional seasons under his belt. He played college football from 2019-23, spending his final two seasons with the Florida Gators.
The San Francisco 49ers selected Pearsall with the No. 31 overall pick in th 2024 NFL Draft. Ahead of his rookie season, Pearsall was shot in the chest, delaying his NFL debut until Week 7 of the 2024 season.
As a rookie, Pearsall played in 11 games, making 4 starts. He logged 31 catches for 400 yards and 3 touchdowns.
In 2025, Pearsall made 9 starts, but those were his only 9 games of the regular season. Pearsall suffered the PCL injury in Week 4 of the 2025 season, sidelining him until Week 11.
Pearsall finished the 2025 season with 36 catches for 528 yards, improvements on his rookie numbers. He did not record a touchdown, however, in Year 2.
