San Francisco 49ers reportedly make final decision on Jauan Jennings for Week 3
It’s been a roller-coaster ride of a year for San Francisco 49ers’ wide receiver Jauan Jennings.
From a myriad of injuries to a lengthy contract dispute that spilled over late into preseason camp, Jennings has constantly been in headlines as of late.
And with him suffering more ailments to begin this season, Jennings has been a player that demands week-to-week monitoring from both 49ers fans and fantasy football managers.
For San Francisco’s Week 3 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals, Jennings was given a ‘questionable’ label as he worked through shoulder and ankle injuries throughout the week. But early Sunday morning, ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news that the former Tennessee wide receiver would not be suiting up for the 49ers in their divisional clash.
While battling through those aforementioned injuries, Jennings has still managed to be effective thus far this season. The 6-foot-3 target out of Tennessee racked up 5 catches for 89 yards and a touchdown in San Francisco’s win over New Orleans last week, and he was targeted a team-high 10 times by quarterback Mac Jones, who is still set to play in place of the injured Brock Purdy.
Given how close Jennings was to playing this week, it’s safe to assume that he will be good to go when San Francisco hosts Jacksonville next Sunday.
