North Carolina football’s 2025 season will be featured in a docuseries after all. Bill Belichick shared the news with his team in a video released to social media on Sunday.
After Belichick was hired, there were reports that the Tar Heels would be featured on HBO’s Hard Knocks. Shortly after the initial report, however, NFL Media, which includes NFL Films, stated on the record that an agreement could not be reached to feature UNC on the offseason show.
Instead of HBO, Hulu will chronicle the Tar Heels in Belichick’s first season.
“I know that you guys have heard that there was a lot of interest in doing a, let’s call it a season-long documentary or a season-long show about North Carolina football,” Belichick told his players. “And so I’m excited really to share with you that we will be doing that with EverWonder and Hulu that will showcase our football program.
“Okay, this is about the UNC football program. There’s obviously a lot of interest in it, and it will stream on Hulu later this fall. It’s going to feature the players working hard, which you guys do. It’s about the players improving and getting better through their hard work, which you do.”
Belichick continued, saying it should capture “the program starting from where it started from several months ago to wherever it’s going to go during the course of the season.” Belichick’s first season coaching college football has brought increased interest to the Tar Heels.
The Belichick era at UNC gets started on Labor Day when the Tar Heels take on TCU.
Excited to showcase our program this fall on @hulu.
