Jaxson Dart to undergo knee surgery, expected to miss remainder of 2026 season, per report

Former Ole Miss Rebels quarterback Jaxson Dart is expected to miss the remainder of the 2026 season after suffering a knee injury during Monday Night Football against the Los Angeles Rams.
According to a report from Ian Rapoport on Wednesday, Dart is expected to undergo knee surgery after suffering damage to his MCL, PCL and meniscus. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Dart’s meniscus is the main issue ailing the quarterback.
Any injury is a shame, but the timing of this one is especially brutal for Dart, who was off to a great start to his sophomore season in the NFL. The former Ole Miss quarterback put up just under 300 total yards of offense while accounting for 3 touchdowns in Week 1’s victory over the Dallas Cowboys. After steadily improving during his rookie year, New York had momentum for the first time in a long time until Dart’s injury Monday night.
For now, New York will turn to Jameis Winston, who at 32 years old is entering his 12th year in the NFL and 2nd year with the Giants. Winston struggled against the Rams, finishing 11-of-27 for 111 yards and an interception.
New York is back in action on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.
