SEC confirms officiating crew ‘got some calls wrong’ during Florida at Auburn, says Jon Sumrall

During Week 3’s game between Auburn and Florida, coach Jon Sumrall was frustrated with a couple of calls that he felt went against the Gators. Despite that, Florida was able to collect a 44-39 win to remain undefeated on the season.
While talking to reporters on Monday, Sumrall said that the SEC agreed that there may have been a couple of missed calls during the game.
The Gators were called for a staggering 16 penalties for 138 yards in the game, while Auburn had 6 penalties for 65 yards. One play that Sumrall disagreed with was personal foul on a hit on the sideline.
While he didn’t agree with all of them, Sumrall did still mention the team has to clean that area up.
Sumrall and the Gators remain undefeated on the season, but a monster test is looming in Week 4 when they welcome No. 4 Ole Miss to Gainesville. The Rebels will be looking to avoid an emotional letdown after the win against LSU last week. For Sumrall, he has Florida off to a good start. However, the game against the Rebels is a huge opportunity for the Gators to show they can compete with anybody in the country.
