Joe Judge’s New York Giants suffered a rough loss on Thursday night against Washington.

Judge’s Giants took a 29-27 lead with 2 minutes left in the game. On its final possession, Washington initially set up a 48-yard field goal try. Dustin Hopkins missed the 48-yarder, but New York defender Dexter Lawrence jumped off sides. With another try, Hopkins made the 43-yarder to give Washington the win.

NFL Twitter was highly critical of Judge, a coach with a special teams background who stresses discipline to his teams.

Here’s a small sample of the criticism:

Judge has deep ties to the SEC as a Mississippi State alum, former Bulldogs grad assistant (2005-07) and Alabama special teams assistant (2009-11). He has been in the NFL since 2012 and took the Giants head coaching job in 2020. Judge is 6-12 as a head coach.
