Mike Zimmer is no longer the coach of the Minnesota Vikings, according to multiple reports, including Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.

Zimmer was fired on Monday along with general manager Rick Spielman. Zimmer was among multiple coaches fired on Monday, including Chicago’s Matt Nagy and Brian Flores of the Miami Dolphins.

The Vikings finished their season 8-9 on Sunday with a 31-17 victory over the Chicago Bears. The Vikings missed the playoffs for a second straight season, the first time that happened under Zimmer.

Zimmer was hired by Vikings owners Zygi and Mark Wilf in 2014 after he spent 6 seasons as the defensive coordinator in Cincinnati from 2008-13. He previously coached in the same position with Atlanta and Dallas since 2000.
