A little SEC-on-SEC crime for your Sunday was made better by an extra tie-in.

Stephon Gilmore was traded from the New England Patriots earlier this year to the Carolina Panthers amid a contract dispute and concerns over the treatment of a quad injury that ended his 2020 campaign. He was traded while on the PUP list and Gilmore told ESPN recently he wasn’t a fan of how New England handled the situation.

The defensive back and former NFL Defensive Player of the Year made his Panther debut a week ago against Atlanta. In just 17 snaps, he intercepted Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan in the fourth quarter to help seal a 19-13 win.

He got another one Sunday going against his former team.

With just over six minutes to play in the first half, Gilmore jumped a crossing route to Jakobi Meyers and picked off rookie Patriots quarterback Mac Jones.

A native of Rock Hill, South Carolina and a former Gamecock, Gilmore now has 27 interceptions over his 10-year career.
