Bill Belichick and North Carolina added a key transfer to their linebacker ranks on Saturday, as former Washington standout Khmori House pledged to the Tar Heels, according to 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz.
House, a former 3-star recruit from the class of 2024, committed to Washington out of national power St. John Bosco in California. An immediate contributor, he played in all 12 games for Jedd Fisch’s program as a true freshman, posting 35 tackles, an interception, and 4 passes defensed.
On Monday, though, he opted to enter the transfer portal, taking an official visit to UNC and scheduling another with Michigan on Sunday. But, on Saturday, he shut down his recruitment, opting to continue his college career in Chapel Hill.
The Tar Heels now have 10 transfers committed to the program. Their incoming high school class includes Bryce Baker, who considered LSU and Michigan after the firing of Mack Brown but ultimately decided to remain in the fold after Belichick’s hiring.
Belichick now takes the reins of a Tar Heel program that finished 6-6 (3-5 ACC) in 2024. The legendary NFL head coach will look to turn the Heels’ fortunes around and turn them into an ACC and College Football Playoff contender.
