Ohio State fans plan to send message to College GameDay with boycott
Ohio State fans are trying to send a message to ESPN and “College GameDay” with a boycott on Saturday morning as they prepare to take on Penn State. The message? The network is biased toward the SEC, and instead, fans will support FOX Sports’ pregame show “Big Noon Kickoff,” at Ohio State.
There’s also the Big Ten Network’s “BTN Tailgate” on campus.
“The choice is clear,” according to one tweet. “You can be one place at one time. Support the network that supports you and your conference, or the one that bashes you and has a proven bias towards the SEC.”
There’s also the chance to stop by and see former Ohio State coach Urban Meyer, who is an analyst on FOX Sports.
When ESPN announced it would come to Columbus, Ohio, Buckeyes fans jumped on the chance to call out the perceived bias with tweets like, “I figured you’d be at the Bama Western Carolina game but I’ll be happy to walk by you on the way to the Fox pregame.”
There was also this kind of statement: “Seriously…@OhioStateFB fans should make a concerted effort to just stay away from espn game day. After everything they pulled last year And the blatant SEC bias. espn should just stay home.”
Some of it stems from the Zach Smith fallout, while others tie it to the SEC having a leg-up on chances to have a favorable part of the College Football Playoff rankings.
The choice is clear. You can be one place at one time. Support the network that supports you and your conference, or the one that bashes you and has a proven bias towards the SEC. #BoycottGameday

In 2015, defending champion Ohio State was the best team on paper. Passed the “eye test”. They lost the one game they couldn’t afford to lose, by a FG, didn’t win the B1G, & got left out of the playoffs.
Don’t dare try to sneak Bama into the #CFP in 2019 when they did the same.

And this is why nobody likes Ohio State fan.
LOL what a bunch of dweebs
Good, less idiots on the TV screen. Fine with them going to see that piece of trash Urb.
Okay? If tosu fails to come out and support their team I bet it will be years before we see Gameday in Columbus again. Good.
So typical of yankee college students. Whining and crying because the don’t get their way. Hang in there, ESPN. You be the adult.
Oh no! ESPN, can you recover from this?? Please check in so that we know you’re ok! A bunch of dorks with hoodies under their jerseys won’t be at gameday??? I repeat, ESPN, ABC, Disney, Mickey Mouse, ARE YOU OK?
Do tell Buckeye boys and girls, what is your record vs the S.E.C. ? BTW, Woody Hayes isn’t tackling anymore.
Far and away at least where Gamesday is concerned, they’ve been biased to Ohio State, and it’s not close. They’ve been to Columbus more than ANY other campus. It’s not even close.
This is exactly why everyone hates Suckeyes fans.
LOL… and we were pushing for them to do the Penn State/Minnesota game last week. I can’t stand the majority of OSU fans for precisely this reason.
What a bunch of snowflakes these fans are ! Just drink some beer and enjoy the show and the game, children. Spoiled brats as they are…throw a temper-tantrum is there is anyone that believes in a different way than they do. When I was in college, we protested the raising of food prices in the Universities dining Facilities, that was a worthy protest…not crap like this. Grow up…kiddies. Life is not gonna give you sunshine every day…there will be some rain & storms ahead for you.
OMG…really so they are advising folks to go to the BTN Tailgate but side step Game Day. Guessing Buckeyes fans and students aren’t a bright bunch…since ESPN runs and provides the backbone for the Big10 Network.
They are too dumb to realize that they will get more negative publicity than GameDay.
What did you expect when the rest of your conference is pretty mediocre? Your best game so far has been against #13 Wisconsin who had lost to unranked Illinois the week before. That week was #2 LSU vs #9 Auburn who were both undefeated at the time. That’s just part of being in the SEC.
This is why no one likes them. On a positive note, it is nice to see all of us on here unified on something. This is the first real strength of schedule game they’ve played… Why would Game Day go any time sooner this season?
Nothing brings CFB fans and rivals together like a mutual hatred of Suckeyes fans. They are by far the worst fanbase in all of sports. And I’m including insane English soccer hooligans in that.
Always loved OSU…ever since 2007 when Sports Illustrated posted article and cover “The Program” and Florida beat the bejesus out of them for nat titles in football and basketball. RIP Tressel and Greg Oden~~
But on game day this weekend, run on over to the Urban Meyer booth, make sure he finds his way to his chair since he has “memory problems”.
Why don’t you have your team get more national championships than Ohio State before you say they suck OSU has 8 to your Georgia 2
We didn’t say Ohio State’s team sucked, just their fans!
All I have to say to the “Boy”cotters is they, like the over-rated likes of Notre Dame, who have to get special treatment written into the rules in order to compete, is push for a bigger better playoff system like every other self-respecting athletic program, professional or collegiate & get your butts out on the field & prove it on the field, if you’re not afraid. Have more inter-vonference games & don’t even let your big money college presidents dictate who you play, if you have any guys!
HaHa! IfOhio State had the guts, I’m sure most SEC teams would love to beat them any time, with or without CGD there!
Listen to all you SEC fans…. your conference is becoming a bigger joke each year that passes!! The BIG TEN is picking up power 5 opponents every season and willing to play at THEIR home field. The SEC is playing teams like south Alabama…. Come on let’s be real!
Who has osu played out of conference and away?
Yet the SEC conference has played schools like Oregon, Texas, West Virginia BYU and Notre Dame this year. Who has the big ten played? OSU hasn’t played another power 5 school from another conference. Sorry game day isn’t coming to see OSU beat 2-7 Rutgers.
LOL OSU played FAU and Miami…of ohio….sit down
All I have to say is Paul Finebaum. You can say nothing about the buckeyes or it’s fans until you explain what he is? Elf, hobbit, or dwarf?
None of the above. He is actually Mr. Burns from the Simpsons
