Urban Meyer encountered quite an awkward moment when he failed to recognize one of his former Ohio State assistant coaches, who later went on to become the head coach of the Tennessee Titans, among other positions.
Vrabel currently serves as a coaching and personnel consultant for the Cleveland Browns. He made an appearance during ESPN’s Monday Night Football and relayed the tale of Meyer.
“Urban Meyer asked, ‘Do I know you?,” Vrabel recalled on the ManningCast. “Whenever I was coaching the Titans and he was coaching the (Jacksonville) Jaguars, he actually said the same thing. I said, ‘Yeah, man, I coach for the Titans and I worked for you for two years.'”

This is apparently a common occurrence for Meyer, who also failed to recognize other stars like Owen Wilson.
There was footage in the same show of actor Owen Wilson going up to the coach to introduce himself during a celebrity flag football game. Apparently, Meyer must not be too keen on movies like “Marley & Me” and “Wedding Crashers,” because it was obvious that he did not know who the actor was.
Meyer looked at him and simply said, “Who are you? How do I know you?”
Wilson responded to him, “I’m on your team.”
Regardless of how long one has known Meyer, it is clear that every face requires an introduction.
