Oklahoma quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr. is really struggling against Texas’s monstrous front 7.

Oklahoma’s freshman QB has been running for his life and sits at 6/10 passing for 51 yards, a mark that’s simply not going to do it against the No. 1 team in the country. The performance has been so underwhelming that some fans are calling for the Sooners to reinsert Jackson Arnold after the halftime break.

Yes, the same Jackson Arnold that was benched during the Tennessee game for his extremely poor play against another top-notch defense.

It did seem surprising that the Sooners decided to pull Arnold so quickly and have yet to make a chance considering Hawkins showing since then. But, folks, that’s what happens when you fail to protect the football time and time again. Not to mention, Arnold entering this game against this defense may completely nuke whatever confidence he has left.

Texas currently leads Oklahoma 21-3 heading into the half. Here are a few of the top reactions to Hawkins’ tough performance to start the Red River Showdown.
