Oklahoma has received a commitment from Humble (Texas) Atascocita running back Tory Blaylock.

The 5-foot-11 tailback announced his verbal pledge on Friday. He chose the Sooners from a group of finalists that also included Texas, Alabama, Tennessee, Oregon, and Ohio State. Oklahoma had been on Blaylock since the early days of his recruitment, extending him an offer back in August 2022. In the years since, he has added offers from 12 other SEC schools, 7 Big Ten schools, more than half the Big 12, and Notre Dame.

Simply put, Blaylock was one of the most sought-after running backs in the class.

The Atascocita product is a 4-star recruit in the industry-generated 247 Composite. He’s ranked as the No. 17 running back in his class and the No. 33 recruit from the state of Texas. Overall, he sits at No. 219 in the Composite’s player rankings.

His brothers, Travian and Taylen, play as defensive backs for Wisconsin and Lindenwood, respectively. Derrick Blaylock, the boys’ father, played running back for Stephen F. Austin and then spent 7 seasons in the NFL.

Blaylock runs track for his high school in addition to football. He ran a 10.7 100-meter time as a freshman in the spring of 2022. The following fall, he was named the Texas District 21-6A Offensive Newcomer of the Year on the gridiron.

As a junior last fall, he had 884 all-purpose yards (616 rushing at 6.9 per carry, 268 receiving on 19 catches) and 14 total touchdowns.

For Brent Venables and the Sooners, Blaylock is commitment No. 10 in the 2025 class. He joins a group of future Sooners that features 6 Composite 4-star recruits and ranks fifth overall in the Composite team rankings.
