Brandon Bolden, a former Ole Miss running back, was in the middle of the seemingly weekly example of a ridiculous unnecessary roughness call in the NFL, and fans let their opinions be known.

Bolden, a special teams player for the New England Patriots, hit Miami Dolphins punter Michael Palardy, who scrambled on a fourth down and 3 play. The call gave Miami a fresh set of downs, and they ended up kicking a field goal to extend their lead to 17-0 in the second quarter.

At some point, the NFL may adjust this rule, but in the mean time, it appears that these types of calls will continue, with a similar reaction to follow.
