There will be no holdout for D.K. Metcalf.

The Seahawks’ second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Ole Miss has officially signed his first NFL contract, the team announced Wednesday.

Following one of the more impressive showings in recent NFL Combine history, Metcalf shot up NFL draft boards after declaring early following his junior season in Oxford. In two seasons on the field, Metcalf registered 65 catches for 1,215 yards and 12 touchdowns for one of the most explosive offenses in the SEC.

According to his new head coach, Pete Carroll, Metcalf is already turning heads in Seattle.

“The thing that’s most impressive is how well he learns,” Carroll recently said according to John Boyle of Seahawks.com. “It makes sense to him, it comes easy to him, he can make things look like it’s supposed to look in anything that we’re asking him to do—route-wise, concept-wise, there’s no ceiling on his play at all. He has got a tremendous top end.”

Metcalf will keep his No. 14 jersey during his rookie season.
