Former Ole Miss Rebels head coach and current Liberty Flames head coach Hugh Freeze will have a homecoming event this season against a familiar foe. The Flames will face Lane Kiffin’s Rebels on Nov. 6 in Oxford, Mississippi.

Freeze was on FOX Sports writer Aaron Torres’s podcast, the “Aaron Torres Podcast” this week. Freeze talked about last year’s 10-1 record, this year’s potential, QB Malik Willis and his return to Oxford. At one point in the show, Torres talked about the excellent usage of Twitter by Kiffin. When asked if he was concerned about Kiffin’s tweeting leading up to the game against him and his Flames, Freeze had this say:

“Does he do his own Twitter? I don’t know man. He is good at that stuff. I’m terrible. My daughter tells me half the time that ‘you’re terrible at this’ and she has to do it most of the time for me now. He’s dang good at that and has some witty stuff. The thing I’ll say about Lane is that I remember the times we were able to beat them when he was at Alabama.”

Freeze is quick to compliment the social media abilities of the Rebels head coach while slamming his own abilities. Despite his lack of social media efficiency, Freeze throws in a jab at Kiffin, reminiscing about the times Freeze’s Rebels beat Kiffin when he was the offensive coordinator for the Alabama Crimson Tide from 2014 to 2016. In the first 2 years of Kiffin’s tenure at Alabama, the Rebels defeated the Tide, both by six points.

This game will be the first time time both coaches have faced each other since 2016. Nov. 6 will be the first time that Freeze and Kiffin face each other as head coaches.
