Isheem Young, who was a rising star before he entered the transfer portal as a star at Iowa State, has landed in the SEC.

Young announced his commitment to Ole Miss on Monday. He was the Big 12 Conference’s co-defensive freshman of the year in 2020, and he left Iowa State with a starting streak of 19 games. Young was also heavily considered Texas A&M and Southern Cal, per 247Sports.

Young made 106 tackles and 3 interceptions in 24 games. In 2020, Young led the team, the Big 12 and tied for sixth nationally with 3 forced fumbles.

Young, who starred for Iowa State for two seasons, has a connection to Ole Miss in a pair of players. He’s from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and played at Imhotep Charter, which is where Rebels defensive lineman Taleeq Robbins played. Young also knows Rebels safety Tysheem Johnson, who is also from Philadelphia.
