Lane Kiffin is known for posting inspirational quotes and messages on his social media accounts, but he’s introduced some of those messages into the locker room too.
Kiffin has posted a parable around Ole Miss’ facilities after a crushing loss to Alabama, hoping to inspire his team to not be too hard on themselves and prepare to turn things around this week.
This parable was posted on doors all over the Manning Center today. Lane Kiffin said it was directed at some players who were disappointed in their Alabama performances. Hopes the message helps them move on. pic.twitter.com/bvecKQOqoc

In his press conference Monday, Kiffin explained the intent behind putting the parable up around the facility.
“I just think it was a good one about, you don’t know why things happen and you can jump to these conclusions and huge things. And this happens in this sport, especially college football. All of the sudden one team’s great and the next week they’re horrible. Or you throw an interception and they drop it and you go to score 2 plays later and then all of the sudden you’re the greatest thing ever. It was really just about you don’t know why things happen and you’ve got to go back and worry about what you can control. Sometimes it ends up being a great thing. I was really directing it at some players that were down about their performance and how they played and plays they could’ve made or missed signals that made some plays look really bad. You can’t control that now, and there may be some great reason for it down the road.”
Kiffin is doing his best to not let the team’s loss to Alabama define their season. This week he has a chance to get things back in motion as the Rebels take on LSU, which is coming off a narrow win over Arkansas.
To do that, Ole Miss will need to put the bad performance in the past and instead focus on what they can do better to win this week. Perhaps the parable will help his team to do that.
