Lane Kiffin getting torched on social media after Ole Miss upset loss to Kentucky
Lane Kiffin and No. 6 Ole Miss are undefeated no more, falling to Kentucky 20-17 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Saturday.
The Rebels weren’t overwhelming favorites in this one, but few expected them to struggle against the Wildcats, a 2-2 team to start the afternoon. But an offense that looked invincible over the first 4 weeks of the season looked anything but as it was held well below its 55-point-per-game average.
Jaxson Dart was receiving significant Heisman Trophy buzz headed into the game. That will cool off considerably after the Rebels’ loss. And while Kiffin and his team aren’t out of College Football Playoff consideration by any stretch of the imagination, they’ll need to recover from this loss in a hurry, starting with South Carolina in Week 5 — with the Gamecocks, who were off in Week 4, probably feeling quite confident after watching the Rebels go down.
Here’s the reaction from social media after a disappointing Rebels home loss, their first in Oxford since the 2022 Egg Bowl vs. Mississippi State and Kentucky’s first at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in over 4-and-a-half decades:

Never compare Lane Kiffin’s offensive playcalling abilities to Josh Heupel ever again

Come to think of it I think Lane Kiffin is the perfect coach for Florida the next significant game that dude wins will be the first.

As a lifelong Ole Miss fan I believe we should boo Lane Kiffin and beg him to go to Florida

Less pickle-ball, more weights @Lane_Kiffin

Sure you don’t want to complain about the crowd? @Lane_Kiffin

Lane embraced being the despicable ‘Villain’ of the SEC.
Rebel fans shouldn’t be shocked when people come out the woodwork to relentlessly mock them when Ole Miss lays an egg.
Ole Miss has inflated offensive stats vs cupcakes. Stats vs non power 4 teams should not count. Ole Miss clearly isn’t among the best offensive teams in CFB. Just padded stats to start the season.
Maybe y’all should have faked a few more injuries
Love this comment
It is funny at the number of people that think that being a propane, and propane equipment salesman, makes them more qualified than a head coach.
In defense of the propane industry-at least they’re undefeated vs a terrible coach like Mark Stoops
The faking of injuries is far worse than the loss.
Losing hurts, but losing on top of acting and talking like Kiffin does…… I leave each reader to have their own thoughts on that. Mine are sure clear, that’s all I’m saying right now!
Saw this one coming. The penalties and lack of focus/discipline finally caught up to us. It should not have happened, but it did. Kentucky owned the line of scrimmage today, and that’s just the simple truth.
That game was living proof you can’t build a championship team primarily via the portal. You can’t find enough elite OL and DL talent there.
Ole Miss is a good team, not a championship team. HS recruiting there will NEVER reach a high enough level to compete with the Alabamas and UGAs.
Same holds true for Mizzou. They may get their wakeup call this coming Saturday.
Lame Whiffin, whiffs a big? game again.
Where is the Ole Miss crowd that was recently crowing about the coming Rebel juggernaut?
Lanie is looking at FSU for his next head coaching job, or maybe OC at Florida
