Lane Kiffin, Keith Carter extend invitation to Mike Wilbon to come watch Ole Miss game
Lane Kiffin is not letting his ongoing feud with Michael Wilbon to end with a whimper. The Ole Miss coach and his athletics director, Keith Carter, have reached out via social media to invite Wilbon to Oxford, Mississippi.
Carter called it an open invitation, and said that players love playing for Kiffin.
Kiffin responded to Wilbon’s original rant from Tuesday’s episode of “Pardon the Interruption,” when he called Kiffin a “clown” and a “cute little story,” but ultimately said Kiffin was an “embarrassment at some point wherever he is.”
On the SEC coaches media teleconference, and in a recorded interview with Paul Finebaum, Kiffin shared that he had never met Wilbon.
“I think everybody has a right to whatever,” Kiffin said. “You can’t control what people do. I worry more when the person’s actually met you and knows you and says those things versus someone who has never met you and doesn’t know you at all. To say those things is pretty over the top compared to what most professional media people say. But I guess he got attention. That’s the name of the game.”
#ComeToTheSip @RealMikeWilbon Would love to actually meet you 🤦♂️ https://t.co/9vE3H3YBYW
