Lane Kiffin would leave Ole Miss for big-time CFB opening, per report

Lane Kiffin’s name continues to come up in coaching rumors as the coaching carousel spins out of control at the end of the 2021 season.
That’s a testament to the job he’s done at Ole Miss, as the Rebels have a chance at 10 wins and a New Year’s 6 bowl game in only his second year at the helm.
But, his name is connected to the LSU opening. And now, per radio personality Andy Slater, you can add Miami to the list.
Per a tweet from Slater on Thursday, Kiffin would be open to leaving Ole Miss for Miami, should the Hurricanes move on from Manny Diaz:
SLATER SCOOP: Lane Kiffin would leave Ole Miss for the University of Miami if the Hurricanes head coaching job were to open, multiple sources close to Kiffin tell me.

Of course, a sitting SEC coach leaving for another Power 5 job without getting fired or resigning is very rare, as Saturday Down South’s Connor O’Gara notes:
The last SEC head coach to leave for another Power 5 job without getting fired/resigning?
James Franklin, who went from Vandy to Penn State in 2014.
But sure, guy, keep living in this fantasy world in which Lane Kiffin leaves Ole Miss for Miami.

Also, the Hurricanes haven’t parted ways with Diaz yet. There’s a lot that has to happen before Kiffin to Miami even has a chance to happen.
We’ll continue to keep an eye on this wild coaching carousel season.
