Report: 2 Ole Miss staffers leaving to join Hugh Freeze at Liberty
By Andrew Olson
Published:
Hugh Freeze continues to look to the SEC to fill out his coaching staff at Liberty.
Former Ole Miss player and Arkansas staffer Tanner Burns announced he would be Liberty’s special teams coordinator Thursday night. On Friday, FootballScoop reported that Ole Miss tight ends coach Maurice Harris is expected to join Freeze’s staff as Liberty’s receivers coach. Harris and Freeze coached together at Arkansas State and Ole Miss.
Instead of having Harris coach tight ends, Freeze is turning to another familiar face, Ben Aigamaua. He had been at Ole Miss since 2012, bouncing around as a graduate assistant on the offensive line, player personnel analyst and assistant athletic director for community relations. Ben Aigamaua played for Freeze at Lambuth.
It appears Aigamua’s addition managed to go unnoticed for a couple days as he actually tweeted about recruiting for Liberty on Wednesday.
