When Ole Miss players were originally tested for COVID-19 upon returning to campus a couple of weeks ago, only 1 player and 1 athletics employee tested positive.

However, according to a new report from Parrish Alford of the Daily Journal, the Rebels are now dealing with a dozen new positive test results.

Per Alford’s report, the positive results could potentially be linked back to a social gathering. Ole Miss has yet to issue a comment on the news:

As of Sunday morning, players’ parents had not been notified by school officials of the positive test results. The school has not yet responded to a request for comment.

Houston was the first school to have to stop football-related activities due to positive COVID-19 tests. We’ll see if other big-name schools have to do the same.

Ole Miss’s first game of the 2020 season is currently scheduled to be played in Houston against Baylor on Saturday, Sept. 5.
