The last thing Ole Miss needs right now is negative press, unfortunately, that’s exactly what has occurred Wednesday morning in Oxford.

According to Antonio Morales of The Clarion-Ledger, defensive back Ken Webster and linebacker Detric Bing-Dukes have both been arrested for allegedly shoplifting. Morales reports both players were booked in the Lafayette County Detention Center, located in Oxford.

Ole Miss has yet to confirm the arrests after Morales broke the news on Twitter:

Making matters worse, both players are experienced defenders who were projected to be major contributors in the upcoming season.

Webster missed nearly the entire 2016 season after injuring his left knee against Florida State in the season opener. He started every game for the Rebels at cornerback the previous season and made an appearance in every game in the 2014 season, mostly on special teams.

Bing-Dukes made 10 appearances last season with three starts. Last season was his first in Oxford after transferring in from Iowa Western Community College.

Update: Ole Miss has confirmed the arrests and suspended both players indefinitely.
