Walter Nolen is down to 2 in his transfer recruitment.

Nolen, who decided to hit the transfer portal at the opening of the undergraduate window earlier this month, told Hayes Fawcett of On3 that he will be deciding between Ole Miss and Oregon.

A former 5-star recruit out of Powell (Tennessee), Nolen played in 22 games over 2 seasons at Texas A&M. He made 4 starts in his freshman season and was a multi-game starter again in 2023.

Nolen recorded 29 total tackles, including 2.5 for loss with 1 sack, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery in his debut season over 10 contests. As a sophomore, Nolen took a big step forward.

This past season, Nolen recorded 37 total tackles in 12 games. He notched 8.5 TFLs with 4 sacks in the 2023 campaign.

Nolen has visited both of his finalists since entering the portal. He is rated the No. 1 transfer by 247Sports and is considering two teams that are determined to not be left out of the College Football Playoff next year.

Lane Kiffin is being called the “portal king” for Ole Miss’ impressive transfer haul. Dan Lanning, meanwhile, has turned heads even while being selective with additions to the Oregon roster. The Ducks have added both Dante Moore and Dillon Gabriel as they replace Bo Nix at quarterback.

We’ll see which program lands the portal’s biggest prize.
