Late on Saturday night, the Vanderbilt-Ole Miss game ended in controversy, with a questionable call in overtime deciding the winner.

Ole Miss WR AJ Brown appeared to make a catch in the end zone, but when he hit the ground, the Vanderbilt defender knocked the ball away.

You can see the play below and judge for yourself whether it was a catch or not:

The ruling on the field, of course, was no catch. Following another incompletion on fourth down, Ole Miss lost the game 36-29.

After the game, SEC director of officials Steve Shaw sent a statement to the SEC Network, which you can see in the video below:

“If a player goes to the ground in the act of catching a pass, he must maintain complete and continuous control of the ball throughout the process of contacting the ground,” Shaw’s statement read.

By that ruling, Brown’s catch wasn’t a catch, but it did seem like he had control for a while before hitting the ground. What do you think of the ruling?
